School band director is suspended for acting like a Jock

ABC12.com: School band director is suspended

This story shows Jock attitudes may not be limited to the players, but even the band that marches during halftime may be overly aggressive in how they punish their members for wrong doing.

It seems a freshman drummer for the Saginaw High School marching band was late for practice one day when he forgot his drumsticks at home. So a senior band member forced him to hold his drum over his head and do so many push ups, the boy's mother claims it broke his elbow.

The district fired the band leader in response and now the students are upset and want to see proof. It seems there has been no evidence presented to the public and no one is even sure if this boy really broke his arm.

If it's true, it's another horrible example of how punishment goes wrong very often in athletic related activities. If it's not, someone owes that band leader a big apology.
