Wrestlers Hog-tie, Gag and Shock Fellow Student
The Daytona Beach News-Journal reports on their most recent hazing incident.
A Deltona High School Wrester was captured by five others, hogtied, gagged with tape and then shocked over 20 times with an electric gas grill lighter before a recent match.
The students responsible have all been charged with false imprisonment and aggravated battery or being a principal to aggravated battery and face school punishment as well.
The victim is not hurt, but Deputy Superintendent Tim Huth said "I have a strong belief . . . that not only student athletes' skills but their characters should be developed." and vows to not allow this type of behavior in the future.
These boys will be the first to fall under the school districts new hazing policy and it doesn't look like anyone is going to be lenient with these guys. Even the Florida legislature thinks hazing has gotten out of hand and is said to be ready to introduce legislation making it a felony.
Finally, someone who realizes that when jocks act more like terrorists, they should be treated as such.
